On Tuesday, October 27, Lani posted a childhood photo of May on social media, accompanied by a heartfelt message thanking friends and supporters for their kindness during this difficult time. She also opened up about the grief she and her siblings are experiencing following the loss of their beloved sister.
In her social media post, Lani described the family's heartbreak as they mourn May's passing and reflected on the important role her sister played in the lives of those closest to her.

My siblings and I are going through one of the saddest and most heartbreaking moments of our lives as we mourn the passing of our beloved sister, May Bayot de Castro.
She was not only a wonderful sister to us, but also a loving wife, a dear friend, a devoted partner to our brother-in-law, Manong Joey, and a caring mother to their two children."
Lani also expressed the pain of knowing that her older sister is no longer with them. Despite the family's grief, she said the support and comforting messages they have received from others have helped them cope with their loss.
"May kirot talaga sa dibdib knowing that she is no longer with us.
But in the midst of our grief, we find comfort in the overwhelming love and kindness you have all shown us. Your heartfelt messages of condolence, prayers, and words of encouragement have somehow made the pain a little easier to bear."
