The television host spoke candidly about how difficult it has been to deal with the loss while explaining that his faith has become an important source of strength. Rather than describing himself as a naturally strong person, Kuya Kim said that he draws his strength from having someone to lean on.
“Di ako malakas, mahina ako pero may sinasandalan ako kaya lumalakas ako,” he said.
Kuya Kim also recalled the anger and confusion he experienced following Emman’s death. He admitted that he initially struggled to understand why such a painful event had happened, particularly as he was already grieving the loss of his daughter.

“Nainis ako. Namatayan ako, meron pang ganon. ‘Di ko magets. Ngayon gets ko na, gets ko na. Because I am face to face with my faith. I see it, and I feel it. And I know that it’s there,” he said.
Over time, however, Kuya Kim said his perspective changed. Instead of trying to find an explanation for everything that happened, he said he has become more deeply aware of and connected to his faith.
For him, that faith provides reassurance that Emman’s death is not the end of their relationship.
“I have faith that I will see my Emman again when the time comes,” he added.
Kuya Kim also expressed his belief that the events of life are ultimately part of God’s plan. He acknowledged that this belief does not necessarily make the pain disappear, but said his faith gives him the strength to continue moving forward.
“This is all pre-planned by God. I know, because I have faith. I am not strong, but I have Jesus who I can lean on 100% of the time. That’s what gives me strength.”
The conversation highlighted the deeply personal way Kuya Kim has been navigating grief, reflecting both his vulnerability as a grieving father and his reliance on his religious beliefs to find hope amid an experience he described as profoundly painful.
Emman died in 2025 at just 19 years old. Her death became one of the most difficult chapters for Kuya Kim and his family, who have since spoken publicly about the mental health challenges she experienced.
By discussing Emman openly, Kuya Kim has also continued to keep her memory present while using his public platform to encourage conversations about mental health and emotional struggles.
His appearance on Toni Talks showed that grief does not necessarily disappear simply because time passes. Instead, Kuya Kim described a continuing process in which pain, questions, faith, and hope coexist.
His admission that he is “mahina” rather than “malakas” also offered a candid perspective on strength. For Kuya Kim, being strong does not mean being unaffected by tragedy. It means acknowledging his own limitations while turning to the person and faith he believes can sustain him.
