Grace Poe honored her late father, legendary actor Fernando Poe Jr., as the family commemorated what would have been his 87th birthday on Thursday, August 20.

The former senator visited the Manila North Cemetery, where FPJ was laid to rest beside his late wife, veteran actress Susan Roces. She also shared photos from the visit on social media.

Reflecting on the occasion, Grace remembered her father and expressed hope that his legacy would continue to live on among Filipinos. She wrote, “Ginugunita natin ngayong araw ang ika-87 kaarawan ni Fernando Poe Jr.”

“Ilang taon man ang lumipas, nawa’y manatili pa rin siya sa puso ng mas maraming Pilipino,” she continued.

Grace also thanked those who continue to remember, support, and honor FPJ years after his passing. She added, “Maraming salamat sa lahat ng mga taga-hanga na patuloy na sumusuporta, nagmamahal at bumubuhay sa kanyang alaala.”

FPJ remains one of the most celebrated figures in Philippine cinema, with his contributions to the local film industry continuing to be remembered by many Filipinos.

Susan Roces is a Filipina actress who became the main cast of John en Shirley until 2007. She married “Da King” on December 25, 1968, and adopted a daughter who is now Senator Grace. In 2004, FPJ died at the age of 65 after suffering from a stroke and was later on described by doctors as multiple organ failure.
