She admitted that Pilita has been occupying her thoughts more often in recent days and that she is only now beginning to fully feel the weight of her grandmother's absence.

“She’s been on my mind a lot lately. I think it’s only now that her absence is really starting to sink in.”

Ara also explained why it took time for her to process her grief, recalling that Pilita passed away just weeks before her father, Ricky Davao, leaving little opportunity to mourn one loss before facing another.

“She left us just weeks before my dad did, so I never really had the chance to process losing her then.”

Reflecting on how mourning unfolds differently for everyone, Ara shared that grief does not always come all at once and can surface long after a loved one has passed.

More than a year after Pilita's passing, Ara's heartfelt tribute underscored how memories remain an important way of keeping loved ones close. Her message reflected both the enduring love she has for her grandmother and the reality that grief can surface long after a loss.
