“Sana they'll create a lot of good memories and sana looking at the wax figure, especially for the fans, it's a nice moment to take a pause para balikan ‘yung journey na pinagdaanan namin to get to this moment.”

Following its local unveiling, the figure will be transported to Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, where it will become part of the museum's collection featuring prominent Filipino personalities.

For Kathryn, having her wax figure displayed in Hong Kong carries a deeper meaning because the city holds a special place in her career. It was the filming location of the blockbuster movie Hello, Love, Goodbye, where she portrayed the character Joy, a role that became one of the defining moments of her acting career.

Reflecting on those memories, Kathryn looked back on the experience of filming in the city and the lasting impact the project had on her life.

“Joy will be there in Hong Kong very, very soon. Hong Kong will always have a special place in my heart. We shot Hello, Love, Goodbye there and that project made a big, big impact in my career. We created Joy there. I have so many memories there. We stayed for a month there and the rest is history,” Kathryn recalled.

Beyond the significance of the location, Kathryn said she also hopes her "Kath-twin" will bring comfort and happiness to Filipinos working overseas, particularly those based in Hong Kong who may not have the opportunity to return home often.

She explained that having a symbol of the Philippines in the city could help overseas Filipino workers feel a little closer to home while they are away from their loved ones.

“Aside from that of course, we have all our kababayans in Hong Kong, a lot of our OFWs. I think it just the perfect place to put my ‘Kath-twin’ kasi they don’t get to go home naman too often, so at least we get a piece of the Philippines there. I hope I'll be able to bring a smile sa mga ‘di nakakauwi nating mga kababayan,” she said.
