Describing the impression he initially gave her, Cai said, "During that time, ang pinakita niya sa akin, sobrang perfect. Super perfect." She also shared that his appearance reminded her of her Spanish-looking grandfather, whom she had always found handsome, making him even more appealing to her.

However, Cai said everything changed after they exchanged vows. She explained that marriage revealed a completely different side of the man she thought she knew.

Speaking about that painful realization, Cai said, "The day we got married — let's just say who he was, wasn't who I thought he was."

When asked whether she had followed her father's advice to truly know the person she was marrying, Cai said she believed she had done everything she could at the time. Looking back, however, she realized that some people are capable of hiding their true personalities until much later.

Although the experience left her deeply hurt, Cai said she has chosen not to dwell on bitterness. Instead, she now focuses on the lessons she gained from the relationship and the blessings that came from it, especially her children.

Sharing the perspective she has embraced after everything she went through, Cai said, "I wouldn't have my kids kung hindi ko siya nakilala. Kailangan mo maging bobo, para maging matalino."
