Singer-songwriter Rico Blanco shared his honest thoughts on the possibility of marriage, offering a reflective and grounded perspective during his conversation with host Boy Abunda on the May 21 episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.”

Rico answered, “Siguro ibigay mo pa rin lahat kasi kahit anong mangyari, Tito Boy, there'll be no regrets afterwards.”

The Asia’s King of Talk then shifted the discussion toward the topic of marriage, asking the OPM icon about his current views on it and whether he still sees it as part of his future.

Rico responded with a thoughtful reflection on timing, readiness, and personal choice, acknowledging that marriage remains a possibility for him but is no longer something he feels pressured to pursue. He explained that being at a certain stage in life has given him clarity about what he does and does not need at present.

“Still a possibility for me. What I suppose has to be with the right person, 'cause I'm at the age where I don't have to get married. I understand for some people, they have to get married. Right now, I don't have to get married. So, if I will get married it has to be the right person,” Rico answered.

His remarks underscored a more selective and intentional approach to marriage, emphasizing compatibility and the importance of the right partnership over societal expectations or timelines.

Rico Blanco is a renowned Filipino musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer. He rose to fame as a founding member of the iconic rock band Rivermaya, where he served as the chief songwriter and eventually lead vocalist. Under his creative direction, Rivermaya produced several hit albums. His songwriting prowess and musical versatility played a significant role in shaping the landscape of Filipino rock music as well. After leaving Rivermaya, Blanco embarked on a solo career. In his personal life, he used to be in a relationship with actress and singer Maris Racal.

Rico takes on his first romantic-comedy leading man role in the upcoming film “Project Baby” at the age of 53. The veteran musician admitted he is stepping out of his comfort zone after years of mostly staying at home and keeping to himself. Sue Ramirez plays an independent, empowered career woman who envisions a family setup that breaks away from traditional norms. Directed by Eric and written by Joey, the unconventional film is set to premiere in cinemas on June 10.
