Marjorie Barretto has achieved a major milestone by graduating from college at the age of 51, earning a Bachelor of Arts, Major in Communication Arts from the Philippine Women’s University (PWU).

The actress marked the occasion on Instagram with a photo of herself in a graduation toga, accompanied by snapshots and a video from the graduation ceremony. In her caption, she reflected on how the journey had been years in the making.

“At 51 years old, I finally wore this cap and gown. For years, finishing college was a dream tucked away — paused for show business, raising children, public service, business, and building a life. But God never forgot. In His perfect time, He gave me the courage to return, the strength to push through, and the joy of crossing this finish line,” she wrote.

“The sweetest part? My children were there to witness it — taking my photos and videos, handing me flowers and gifts. A moment so surreal, a full circle moment.”

Marjorie expressed her gratitude to the PWU “for opening your doors and making this chapter possible,” and to her close friend Ruffa Gutierrez “for starting this journey for so many of us — she graduated first, lovingly encouraged me to go back to college, and always reminded me that I could do it.”

The former actress also thanked her loved ones who kept her motivated and closed her message with an inspiring reminder: “And to those my age who still carry dreams in their hearts: it’s never too late, and you are never too old, to realize the dreams God placed in you.”

Marjorie Barretto is a Filipina former actress and politician. She hails from the prominent Barretto family, with sisters Gretchen and Claudine also being well-known figures in the Philippine entertainment industry. She is a mother to five children from different relationships. Her eldest daughter, Dani Barretto, was born from her relationship with actor Kier Legaspi. Marjorie later married comedian and actor Dennis Padilla in 1997, and they had three children together: Julia , Claudia, and Leon. Meanwhile, Marjorie's youngest child, Erich, was born from her relationship with former Caloocan Mayor Recom Echiverri.
