Kapuso actress Ashley Ortega opened up about her strained relationship with her mother in a heartfelt moment during Wednesday’s episode of Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition. The emotional conversation happened as part of a task moderated by host and house guest Gabbi Garcia, where housemates “spoke” to their loved ones through a symbolic dinner setting.

During the task, Ortega admitted that her biggest mistake was leaving their home without saying a word. She revealed that, despite their seemingly good relationship at the time, she had thought about leaving for years and ultimately made the difficult decision to go.
When asked if she thought her mother missed her, Ortega hesitated, saying she wasn’t sure. “What I feel like is, hindi mo pa rin tanggap lahat nung nangyari so I don’t know. I don’t know if you miss me or not and I don’t want to expect that you miss me,” she said. However, she expressed hope that her mother thinks about her from time to time and assured her that she was doing okay. She also shared how much she missed her grandmother.
As the conversation grew more emotional, Ortega broke down in tears when asked about the pain she and her mother caused to each other. She admitted that she left because she could no longer handle the situation, even though she knew it deeply hurt her mom. “Sobrang sakit, Ma. To the point na I left because hindi ko na kaya talaga,” she said. She explained that she didn’t want to hold onto resentment and distanced herself to allow space for both of them to heal.

Despite their conflicts, Ortega expressed gratitude for everything her mother had done for her. She acknowledged her mother’s sacrifices, saying, “You’re the reason why I’m a figure skater. You’re the reason why I’m a good actress. You’ve been there.” She also thanked her for all the emotions—both good and bad—that shaped her into the person she is today.
In the final question, Ortega was asked if she believed there was still hope for forgiveness between them. Without hesitation, she answered, “Of course, Ma. I’m just waiting for you. If you’re not ready, go, take your time kasi ako OK na ako.”
Her heartfelt words resonated with viewers, leaving many hopeful that time would eventually heal their relationship.
