In her first post, Peralejo emphasized the importance of honesty in expressing political stances, particularly criticizing those who, in her view, conceal their support for Duterte behind neutral calls for national prayer. Rica pointed out that they weren’t posting to pray for the country when the alleged extrajudicial killings were occurring during Duterte’s presidency. She wrote:
“Respect for Duterte supporters. Respect for those who do not. But I have none for those who are secretly for Duterte but cloak their statements with ideologies such as ‘let’s pray for the nation.’ Sabihin nalang kasi ng diretso. Kasi wala namang call to prayer nung panahon ng EJK.”

In her second post, she reflected on how such pivotal events reveal people’s true colors, noting that some prioritize self-preservation as power dynamics shift:
“Panalo talagang pagmasdan mga sinasabi ng tao sa mga ganitong panahon kasi naglalabasan yung totoong kulay. Yung mga alam mong self-preservation ang atake kasi gumagalaw ang points of power. ang di lang natitinag talaga ay yung di kumapit sa kapangyarihan eh.”

The former president’s detention has been a polarizing topic, eliciting a wide range of reactions across the nation.
Duterte is accused of crimes against humanity related to his administration, which allegedly resulted in thousands of extrajudicial killings .
As the nation grapples with the implications of this development, public figures like Peralejo continue to use their platforms to voice their perspectives, contributing to the ongoing discourse on accountability, justice, and transparency in the Philippines.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines. He left Malacañang on June 30. The newly inaugurated President of the Philippines is Bongbong Marcos who got 31 million votes in the May 2022 elections. The new Vice President of the Philippines is VP Sara Duterte, the daughter of the former president.
Earlier, the former president was apprised of his rights under the Miranda Doctrine. In a video shared by GMA News, CIDG chief, Police Major General Nicolas Torre III, is seen reciting the Miranda Doctrine to the former president. The reading of the Miranda rights is a standard procedure for persons being arrested to ensure that the latter fully understands their rights upon their arrest. It can be recalled that the International Police (InterPol) has confirmed the issuance of the arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court against the former president.
An earlier video showing former President Rodrigo Duterte’s longtime partner, Honeylet Avanceña, seemingly trying to prevent the former leader from being taken into custody has gone viral. The video, which was posted on the social media page of their daughter, Veronica or Kitty Duterte and shared by ABS-CBN news on its own page, has since then gone viral. The said video also captured snippets of conversations between Avanceña and the former leader.
