On March 9, 2025, former child actor Bugoy Cariño and volleyball star EJ Laure exchanged vows in a heartfelt ceremony at St. John Marie Vianney Parish Church in Silang, Cavite. The special gathering was attended by close family and friends, marking a significant milestone in the couple’s journey together. 

In the days following the wedding, Bugoy shared touching clips on his Instagram account, offering fans a glimpse into the emotional moments of their special day. One poignant video captured Bugoy with his mother, both visibly moved, as he held a standee of his late father, symbolizing his presence in spirit.  Another clip showcased Bugoy praying and then sharing lighthearted moments with his groomsmen, reflecting the camaraderie and joy of the occasion. The most touching segment featured Bugoy’s tearful reaction upon seeing EJ walk down the aisle, underscoring the deep bond they share.

Bugoy and EJ’s relationship has been the subject of public attention over the years, primarily due to their age difference. They faced scrutiny when rumors of EJ’s pregnancy surfaced in 2020, as Bugoy was 15 and EJ was 20 at the time. The couple initially kept their situation private but later introduced their daughter, Scarlet, to the public during Bugoy’s 18th birthday in 2020. Addressing critics, Bugoy emphasized his commitment, stating, “Hindi niyo po alam buong story namin. At least ako, kahit bata pa pinanindigan ko lahat ng responsibilidad ko at hindi ko po tinakbuhan.”

Their journey from young parents to a married couple showcases their resilience and commitment to one another. The recent wedding not only solidifies their bond but also serves as a testament to their enduring love and dedication to their family.

Bugoy Cariño, who won the Star Circle Kid Quest talent search on ABS-CBN, was a part of the youth-oriented comedy show "Goin' Bulilit." Later on, he became a member of the all-male group Hashtags on the noontime show "It's Showtime." On the other hand, EJ Laure is one of the most famous volleyball players from the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses.

In a previous report by KAMI, in a recent media conference for the movie "Huling Sayaw," Bugoy openly admitted that he was saddened after losing many projects and opportunities when rumors circulated that he became a father at a young age. On the other hand, Bugoy now believes that perhaps the challenges he faced were a part of God's plan to help him grow and overcome. He has since bounced back from those setbacks.

Earlier, Bugoy Carino courageously admitted that their initial plan with his girlfriend, EJ, was to terminate the pregnancy due to their youth. However, after heartfelt prayers and conversations with his father, Bugoy decided not to push through with it. Now, they are a joyful family with their daughter, Scarlet.
