Vhong Navarro surrenders after arrest warrant was issued: “Ang bigat ng loob ko”

Vhong Navarro peacefully surrendered to the authorities after the warrant of arrest regarding his alleged rape of Deniece Cornejo was issued.

In a video report by ABS-CBN, Vhong said that he will face the rape complaint against him in court.

However, he admitted to getting shocked and frustrated over the recent development regarding his case. It can be recalled that the Department of Justice has already junked the rape complaint against Vhong due to alleged inconsistencies in Deniece’s statements about what happened.

However, the Court of Appeals recently granted the request of Deniece's camp to take the case to trial. According to the Court of Appeals, it is better for Vhong to defend himself at trial.

“Yun nga yung nakakalungkot kasi for how many years, akala namin nila attorney na tapos na.

“Kaya nagulat kami after ng ilang years, parang eto ulit nabuhay, parang nababaligtad.

“Ang hirap paniwalaan. Nung 2014 inilahad ko yung lahat ng nangyari. Wala akong tinago, sinabi ko lahat.

“Alam ng Panginoon yun, na nagsasabi ako ng totoo. Kaya ngayon ang bigat ng loob ko,” Vhong said.

Vhong Navarro is a Filipino comedian, actor, dancer, singer, judge, and TV host of ABS-CBN Entertainment Groups. He is part of the dance group Street boys in the Philippines. He is currently hosting the noontime variety show, It's Showtime.

Navarro was also allegedly beaten up by Cornejo’s male friends during the same night the alleged rape took place. The Taguig court convicted Cornejo, Cedric Lee, and Jed Fernandez for grave coercion in 2018 for what happened to Navarro in 2014, as reported by Inquirer.

Deniece Cornejo was allegedly crushed by ABS-CBN, the network where Vhong Navarro works, according to famous lawyer Atty. Ferdinand Topacio. Atty. Topacio said that Deniece has been through enough and that he already pitied her. He also revealed that the former model and actress is in the process of rebuilding her life after it was smashed by the giant network. The famous lawyer also said that Deniece doesn’t want to be an actress anymore, expressing his opinion that she’s already happy where she is.

Vhong Navarro took to Instagram and wrote a lengthy message to his wife, Tanya Bautista. Along with his message, he also uploaded a cute video of the two of them together. The 'It's Showtime host' expressed his love and gratitude to Tanya. Moreover, many netizens and also celebrities have commented on Vhong's heartwarming post.
