Old man receives donations after he was duped with a fake P1000 bill

A fruit vendor named Solomon Alfanta had a bad experience on Easter Sunday as a customer paid him a fake 1000 peso bill. He gave the customer a change of 900 pesos for the the payment of the fruits amounting to 100 pesos.

The old man was not able to recognize the fake bill until he tried to buy meat. He was surprised that the meat vendor did not accept his money.

His complaint was rejected at first but policemen came to their house the following day and they filed a blotter against the scammer.

The story about the old man's misfortune went viral on Facebook after a netizen named Angelie Mabanta shared his story. Mabanta urged the netizens to help the old man and soon enough, donations came in.

Mabanta also purchased a cellular phone for Alfanta from the monetary donations given to him.
