Netizen shares 'product mispricing' from a local supermarket to raise awareness

One of the Philippines' famous local one-stop supermarket has been linked to a viral post that called them out for their alleged 'product mispricing.'
KAMI learned that the netizen shared photos of the price tags showing a lower amount compared to the actual price which reflected on the official receipt.
In LJ Jumola’s post, she shared how she wanted to raise awareness about grocery shopping, “To my family and friends, be very careful in buying your groceries lalo na on busy days/holidays. I rarely post on my timeline but this incident really bothered me. It happened in SM Hypermarket Novaliches Branch. If I didn’t check twice I would have over paid Php 52.42 para sa cauliflower.
“The labeled price is 66.14 (1st photo) but when the cashier punched it, Wow magic! 118.56 na! If you notice, too, iba rin ang price ng bell pepper sa receipt vs. dun sa nasa label so ano to?? Please, please don’t take your eyes off when checking out ‘cause that’s where the magic happens.
“And when you caught it, parang wala lang sa mga cashiers/staff, ivo-void lang or papalitan ang price. They wouldn’t even tell them to correct the labels. Pano nalang yung mga nagmamadali at hindi na na-check kung may mali sa mga presyo ng binili nila? Grabe para-paraan nalang.“
Netizens have also opened up and shared their own experiences on LJ’s post.
“Naku napaka notorious ng SM Supermarket chains (savemore, hypermart) sa ganitong issue. Nakapagtataka na walang nagrarandom audit or penalize sa kanila.”
“Grabe pala pati SM may modus na rin. Hndi pa naman ako nagchecheck!”
“Naganyan na din ako, yung kinuha ko sa shelves ibang price yung pinunch na ay nagulat ako, sabi ko cancel Ano to’ niloloko nyo kami? Hanggang sa kinausap nako ng parang head nila. Sabi ko ayusin nila yung mga price label nila. Nakakaabala. Sorry lang ng sorry!”
“Nakaawa yung mga walang budget, tsaka yung mga minimum lang kinikita..”
“Hindi lang po sm, puregold ganyan din sistema kaya talagang check nyo po mabuti bago kayo umalis ng counter.”
