According to a report by GMA Regional TV's Fe Marie Dumaboc on 24 Oras Weekend on Saturday, the victims included five-year-old Kayden, his grandmother Judith, and his five-year-old cousin, Xian Kyrie. While Kayden and Judith were found dead at the scene, Xian Kyrie died later at the hospital.
Julie Pearl, the mother of one of the children and the sole survivor of the incident, has since been discharged from the hospital. She sustained scratches and bruises on her feet during the disaster.
Julie Pearl recalled that the family was having lunch when the landslide struck. The collapsing house, soil, and rocks reportedly buried all four of them. While trapped beneath the debris, she said she could still feel the children struggling and hear her mother screaming.

The children's grandfather was at work when the tragedy occurred.
Local officials are looking into a possible geological cause of the landslide. According to the barangay captain, a crack observed on the mountainside may have resulted from the magnitude 6.5 earthquake that struck in September 2025. However, the possible connection remains subject to further assessment.
Following the incident, approximately 75 families, representing more than 200 individuals, were evacuated from the area. Displaced residents are temporarily staying at a gymnasium and a daycare center while authorities assess the risks.
The local government unit and other government agencies have already provided initial assistance to affected families.
Meanwhile, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau conducted an initial inspection of the site. Authorities advised the evacuated residents not to return to their homes for one month because of continuing ground movements and occasional periods of heavier rainfall.
The temporary restriction aims to protect residents while the possibility of additional landslides remains a concern.
