Murdered 16-year-old Christine Lee Silawan was finally laid to rest at the Cattleya Cemetery in Cordova, Cebu, in the afternoon of March 23.
KAMI learned that there were at least a thousand mourners who grieved with the family of Christine.
Based on Inquirer's report by Delta Dyrecka Letigio, they were wearing shirts which expressed how they condemned the manner of death of Christine.
The hashtag #JusticeforChristine was their battle cry.
Christine's aunt and grandfather gave their respective eulogies, where they once more called for justice for her death.
Her grandfather emphasized that if the right suspects would not be apprehended, then justice would still be elusive.

The mom of Christine, Lourdes Silawan, lost consciousness while the burial rites were administered.
She was taken to the Emergency Medical Response Team van. She was able to regain consciousness and was able to bring Christine to her grave.

Public officials, including Lapu-Lapu Mayor Paz Radaza joined the burial rites.
