Sam Milby chooses Julia Montes over Queen Pia

This year marks the eighth year of actor Sam Milby and Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach’s friendship. However, they have never dated and until now they continue to remain as friends.

Sam believes that if he really wanted to, he would definitely pursue Pia – but because he truly cared for her, and not just because of her title as Miss Universe.

“I feel flattered that she was very vocal during her interview with Tito Boy (Abunda) … When I do court her, what I feel has to be truthful and sincere, and not only because she’s a beauty title-holder. I have a guilty conscience, too,” he explained.

The interview he mentioned was the April 14 episode of “Tonight With Boy Abunda,” where Boy asked Pia to choose one actor among Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz and Coco Martin.

Pia’s answer? “You didn’t include Sam.”

Eventually, however, she picked Coco Martin.

The 26-year-old now is now taken and rumored to be dating Mike Varshavski, People Magazine’s Sexiest Doctor Alive. Pia confirmed their status on the show, but reassured everybody that being Miss Universe is still her top priority.

Meanwhile, Sam revealed that the girl currently closest to him is his “Doble Kara” costar Julia Montes and not Pia Wurtzbach. When he described her during a press conference that announced Book Two of the afternoon drama series of ABS-CBN, he was filled with praise for her:

“She’s amazing. She is one of the best actresses I know. I have so much respect for Julia. What people don’t know is that she has a very beautiful singing voice, but she doesn’t believe me when I tell her that. She likes to sing on the set.”

“Julia is a professional. She arrives on the set on time, even though we know how draining it is for her to play two characters in the show.”

If he has the time to do so, Sam is still interested in trying his luck in Hollywood next year.

“That’s still in my plans. I have a talent management there that still sends me e-mails to ask for videos for auditions.”
