“Ate Anne, we love you so much!” she said.
Vhong Navarro echoed the sentiment while addressing Curtis directly.
“Hi, Anne! We love you and we support you,” he said.
The brief show of solidarity happened during a discussion related to the previous day’s jackpot question in the game segment. The question asked about the popular name of Republic Act No. 11313, widely known as the Bawal Bastos Law or Safe Spaces Act. Contestant Buboy failed to answer correctly, which meant he was unable to take home the jackpot prize.
The mention of the Safe Spaces Act came shortly after comments made by Quezon City 4th District Representative Jesus “Bong” Suntay during a House Committee on Justice hearing earlier in the week.
During the hearing related to the third impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte, Suntay referenced seeing the Filipino-Australian actress at a mall while explaining a point. The remark drew widespread attention and sparked criticism online.
The controversy prompted discussions about respect, public conduct, and the Safe Spaces Act, which addresses gender-based se*xual harassment in public spaces.

Although Curtis was not present during the episode, her fellow It’s Showtime hosts made sure to express their support on air, reassuring their colleague that she remains valued and missed by the show’s family.
Anne Curtis began her entertainment career in the mid-1990s and gradually rose to become one of the Philippines’ most prominent stars. Over the years, she headlined blockbuster films, led successful television dramas, and became a longtime co-host of the popular noontime program It's Showtime. Beyond acting, Curtis also ventured into music, fashion, and business. Her ability to adapt to the ever-changing entertainment landscape while staying authentic to her audience has helped her maintain a loyal fan base, ensuring her continued relevance and influence across multiple platforms.
In a previous report, Bong Suntay faced public backlash after making controversial remarks referencing Curtis during a House justice committee hearing. Several lawmakers criticized his comments as inappropriate and moved to have them stricken from the official record. Suntay, however, defended himself, saying there was nothing immoral or improper about his statement. The issue arose during discussions on impeachment complaints filed against Vice President Sara Duterte, drawing significant attention to the lawmaker’s remarks and sparking broader conversations about decorum and professionalism in official government proceedings.
Meanwhile, Viva Artists Agency released a strongly worded statement condemning what it described as “repulsive comments” that mentioned Curtis. The agency stressed that invoking a person’s “good name” to illustrate unrelated points is inappropriate and unnecessary. It added that such remarks “have no place in any forum,” warning that they risk normalizing misogyny in public discourse. The management firm also called for accountability and urged public officials to remain respectful and mindful of their words and actions, especially in formal settings.
