Following the incident, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region 8 temporarily suspended all units of the shuttle service involved for 30 days. The agency also ordered mandatory drug testing for the company’s drivers to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Road safety remains a major concern in the region, especially on busy highways where stationary vehicles can pose serious hazards. Officials are urging drivers to remain vigilant and exercise caution, particularly in areas where large trucks may be parked at the roadside.
As the investigation unfolds, authorities are expected to determine whether negligence or mechanical failure contributed to the accident. Families of the victims, meanwhile, are receiving support from both the company and local officials as they cope with the sudden loss.
The LTFRB has also reminded transport operators of their responsibility to maintain safe driving practices and prevent accidents on provincial roads.
