Mark Arjay Reyes has spoken out following findings by the Philippine National Police indicating that his bride-to-be, Sherra De Juan, may be experiencing emotional and financial distress.

Reyes addressed the issue by directly disputing claims that money problems contributed to Sherra’s situation.

In a statement, Reyes clarified that expenses connected to Sherra’s family, particularly medical concerns involving her father, did not cause financial strain on their end.

"'Yung sa father niya po, ma'am, lahat po 'yun, covered po ng HMO niya. So, wala kaming ginastos diyan ni piso. 'Yung sa kasal naman po naming, kaya nga po plinano naming yan eh, sobra-sobra po kami ng budget sa kasal," said Mark Arjay Reyes, fiancé of Sherra De Juan.

According to Reyes, proper planning played a major role in ensuring that their upcoming wedding would not become a financial burden.

He emphasized that preparations were done ahead of time precisely to avoid unexpected expenses or pressure.

The PNP earlier noted that Sherra may have been dealing with emotional and financial challenges, which are among the factors being examined as part of their assessment.

While authorities have not released full details, the findings prompted public discussion and reactions from those close to her.

Reyes’ remarks aim to clarify his side and correct what he believes to be misconceptions surrounding their personal finances.

He maintained that there were no unpaid obligations related to health care or wedding arrangements that could have contributed to distress.
