Sharifa Akeel-Mangudadatu, the wife of Ismael “Toto” Mangudadatu and former Miss Asia Pacific International, has filed her candidacy for governor of Sultan Kudarat.

She will be running under the Aksyon Demokratiko, Mayor Isko Moreno’s party.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, the beauty queen urged her followers and the citizens of Sultan Kudarat to join her in the new path that she is taking.
She also said that the day of her filing was a great day to celebrate the opportunity to be able to fight fo what she believes in. She added that it is also what every Sultan Kudarateño deserves.

Sharifa got married to Maguindanao Representative Toto Mangudadatu just this year.
It was an emotional wedding because according to Sharifa, it took quite some time before she finally said yes to Toto.
"The road that led me to you was not easy. No matter how hard I tried to fight it, no matter how much others wanted to fight it, fate wanted us to be together."
Toto Mangudadatu, is a Pinoy politician who now serves as the 2nd district representative of Maguindanao province since his election in 2019. Rep. Mangudadatu was born on August 15, 1968 in Sultan Kudarat.
He married Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 Sharifa Akeel. Photos of the wedding celebration and reception surfaced on the Internet after they were shared by some of the guests. Most of the guests attending the celebration were wearing face masks and observing social distancing in compliance with safety health protocols that are in place. The marriage ceremony was held at the Al Nor Hotel and Convention Center in Cotabato City on August 25, around 10 a.m.
Mylene Mangudadatu, the wife of Cong. Toto Mangudadatu who sought the help of Raffy Tulfo before has given her reaction to the marriage of the congressman to Sharifa Akeel. The message of Mylene was sent via a close friend of hers, Gio Miguel Ocampo. She said that she is at peace and that she has no problem. Gio further explained that the marriage of Cong. Mangudadatu to Sharifa Akeel is not a big thing for her and that life goes on.
