“Magiging totoo akong tao, guilty. Hindi naman away na away talaga.
“Bata pa kasi ako nung nag-star mag-boyfriend, eh alam naman natin yung emosyon natin diba?
“Yung nangyari kasi, minessage ko yung girl, ‘I’m not comfortable seeing you around with my boyfriend during that time.’
“Kasi you need to draw a border. Pero I learned naman na mas magiging mature ka naman in handling relationships,” Rabiya said.
Later on, she also confessed to dating a guy in the past who was about seven years older than her. According to Rabiya, she prefers dating guys older than her because her father left their family early on.
Rabiya Mateo became well-known in the country after she won the Miss Universe Philippines 2020. She became beloved for her beauty, confidence and intelligence and for humble background.
The beauty queen represented the Philippines in the 69th Miss Universe pageant, entering the top 21 but failing to get to the top 10.
The Miss Universe Philippines 2020 pageant became controversial due to allegations of cheating. Miss Davao Alaiza Malinao defended the winner, Rabiya Mateo, saying that the cheating allegations against her are untrue.
Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray is also one of the high-profile celebrities who expressed their support for Rabiya. The famous beauty queen supported Rabiya by welcoming her to the “sisterhood.”
