Netizens bashed Arnel Ignacio after posting a video message for Leni Robredo
After singer Mocha Uson found herself in the middle of social media firestorm for writing an open letter to the incoming Vice President Leni Robredo, TV comedian Arnel Ignacio who recently posted a video message for the vice president-elect came next facing the same predicament.
On Sunday, May 29, the game show host shared on his Facebook page a 5-minute video critiquing the victory of Liberal Party’s vice presidential candidate. The celebrity asked Robredo to answer the alleged cheating accusations during the national election where she got more than 200, 000 vote lead against closest rival Senator Bongbong Marcos.
The controversial video already has nearly 300, 000 views with more than 9,400 shares and about 7,500 likes.
Ignacio gained both praise for his bravery in sharing openly his views and mostly criticism from Robredo’s well-wishers.
In a report made by PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Ignacio said that there’s nothing new with what people are trying to throw at him. The Duterte supporter added that he won’t be surprised with all the bashing after he posted his video message.
“Wala naman bago silang sinasabi sa akin, e. Namemersonal lang sila, e. Hindi naman nila ina-address ang totoong isyu. Wala naman silang sinasabi sa akin... ‘baklang laos,’ gusto ko lang daw magka-show. E, sanay naman ako na walang show! (They can’t even say anything new about me. They’re attacking me personally. They’re not even addressing the real issue. They are not saying anything significant about me. They thought I just want to have a show. But, I’m already used to not having any show at all!)” he said.
Netizens have mixed perspective upon watching the video. Here is what Ignacio posted on his personal social media account that went viral.
