His action prompted Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong to order an investigation.

Perhaps in a bid to placate Baguio City officials, Feelmaking Productions issued an officials statement explaining what happened.

“Arjo Atayde tested positive for COVID-19 as shooting for his new film culminated in Baguio last August 16,” the statement, which was signed by the firm’s Production Head, Ellen Criste.

Criste further narrated that the actor was already suffering from high fever and having bouts of headaches and breathing difficulties.

The statement also pointed out that Arjo has pre-existing medical conditions that prompted them to rush him to a hospital in Manila.

“It was the mutual decision of Feelmaking Productions Inc., Arjo’s parents and doctors to rush the actor, who has a pre-existing medical condition, straight to a hospital in Manila on August 17,” the statement further said.

Feelmaking also assured officials and the people of Baguio City that it accorded necessary assistance to everyone who had tested positive for the virus.

“We have provided assistance for nine others who tested positive for COVID-19 but are asymptomatic and are currently in quarantine. We have likewise coordinated with the local officials for necessary safety protocols,” part of the statement from Feelmaking Productions read.

The company also said it has already reached out to the office of Baguio City Mayor Magalong.

Juan Carlos Campo Atayde, more popularly known as Arjo Atayde, is a Pinoy actor. He was born on November 5, 1990 to businessman Art Atayde and actress Sylvia Sanchez in Manila, Philippines. Arjo is currently under Star Magic and Viva Artists Agency. He has starred in various movie flicks and TV series, particularly as antagonist Joaquin Tuazon in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano. He is the older brother of Ria, Gela and Xavi. He entered showbiz at the age of 9 and it was with the kiddie variety show, Ang TV. He stopped, however, when his taping schedules interfered with his academics.

Recently, Mayor Benjamin Magalong made an announcement confirming that Arjo Atayde left Baguio City despite being COVID positive. In his interview with RNG Luzon, the Baguio City Mayor shared that Arjo's team initially claimed they would have a bubble. However, Mayor Magalong said that was not followed and that no triage was followed among the team. Aside from this, Mayor Magalong claimed Arjo left the city without their knowledge even though they were communicating from time to time.

It is not clear whether the act of Arjo would affect his political plans, having rumored to aspire for office in Quezon City. A month ago, the actor donated service vehicles to Quezon City's local government unit. The QC Government took to social media to express their gratitude for the actor's generosity. In the photos shared by the LGU, Arjo can be seen wearing a mask in front of several service vehicles. Netizens praised Arjo for his good deed and speculated whether he will be running for office in the next election.
