Bianca Gonzalez recently uploaded a photo of her at 17-years old on social media and captioned it with words that lifted the banner high of individuals with dark skin.
In her caption, Bianca said brown or dark-skinned people are not pitiful, nor should they regard the color of their skin as disadvantageous.
The host also possesses brown skin, but at no time did she consider herself at a losing end when compared to fair-skinned individuals.
“Hindi ‘kawawa’ ang morena. Hindi dehado, hindi lugi, hindi pangit ang maitim kumpara sa maputi,” Bianca said.
She also issued an appeal to those who kept on harping about how beautiful or handsome one can be if he or she has fair or white skin.
“Tama na ang harmful messaging na yan, please,” the TV host appealed.
She then said that her message also applies to her, as well as to other brown or dark-skinned girls and boys who might come across her post.
“That would be my message to 17-year old me in this picture, and to all other brown-skinned girls (and boys!) who might be reading this,” Bianca said.
