The actress made it clear that there is no truth to what "chamitchell" said by responding directly to the netizen's post.

Earlier, the netizen posted: “Pero pasalamat tayo kay Nafson..kasi di lumabas yung "fiancee" if not for him. may silbi din ang yawa. it took a DDS for the truth to come out. ilabas ang proposal video.”

The netizen was referring to the discussion between a certain Nafson Tolentino and Javi Gil, the older brother of Enrique Gil, the reel and real-life boyfriend of Liza Soberano.

The said discussion centered on Nafson lambasting Liza and asking her to do some research first saying her piece on the rising COVID cases in the Philippines. He also told Liza to better apply for a citizenship in the US so that she would know better.

Javi went to her defense, pointing out to Nafson that the actress is in fact a US citizen and she knows what she’s talking about.

It turned out that Javi and Nafson were friends, as the latter admitted in a later post.

They kept the discussion on the level and respected each others’ opinion, but what caught the netizens’ eyes was when Nafson apologized to Javi, to his brother Enrique, and his “fiancée,” Liza.

This is what “chamitchell” was perhaps referring to when she said that Liza is already engaged.

The actress, however, is quick to respond to “chamitchell’s” post. Addressing her directly, Liza said: “I'm sorry to burst your happy bubble but if I was engaged, I would be loud and proud. I wouldn't hide it.”

That was a very classy response from the actress, which is a great way to correct something in a very polite manner.

Several days ago, Liza took to Twitter and lamented how the government lacked support for the poor. She expressed how her heart bleeds for people who could not afford not to go out and to work because they need to choose between the virus and dying of starvation. The actress then said that it is easy to stay at home if everyone has food on the table and money to pay the bills. She then said that in the U.S. COVID-19 testing is free and vaccination is also free.

Almost after publishing her post, netizens supporting the Duterte administration lambasted the actress and engaged in a word war with her. One netizen slammed the actress for comparing the status of the Philippines and the U.S. However, the actress did not take it sitting down, and instead responded to the basher eloquently: "So what do we do? Just sit back and wait... pray that Covid just disappears?"
