Angel Locsin denounced the recent statement of President Rodrigo Duterte for what she views as a belittling of COVID-19.

The actress cited the President’s speech when she issued her own short statement as a reaction. She posted it on her Instagram stories.
During the weekly Cabinet meeting where top government officials apprise the President and the nation on the current status of the health crisis, PRRD told Filipinos "do not be afraid."
“Do not despair. Kaya natin ito COVID na ito. Maliit na bagay ito sa buhay natin. Marami tayong dinaanan mas ano, mas grabe, mas mahirap, mas magluluha kayo... Lahat kayo 'wag kayong matakot,” President Duterte said.
Angel zeroed in on the “maliit na bagay ito sa buhay natin” part of the statement, and took it as an indication that the nation’s chief executive is belittling the pandemic.
“Maliit na bagay? Baka po sa inyo, Sir. Para sa amin po kasi malaki. Malaking utang. Malaking taas ng cases. Malaking human rights violations,” the actress said.
Aside from taking offense at what she claims is a belittling of the current health crisis, the actress also cited the growing national debt, the increasing number of cases, and the extensive violations of human rights.

Angelica Locsin Colmenares, better known as Angel Locsin, is a Filipino film and TV actress, film producer, fashion designer, and commercial model. She rose to fame mainly due to her TV roles in "Mulawin" as Alwina and as Darna in the TV adaptation of the eponymous comic by Mars Ravelo.
