Lindsay De Vera finally spoke up about the issue that she got impregnated by Dingdong Dantes.
On Monday, January 25, entertainment writer Jobert Sucaldito had an opportunity to interview the 21-year-old actress over the phone.
For the first time, Lindsay took the chance to directly address the controversy and clear her and Dingdong’s names. She emphasized that she never had a relationship with the A-list actor.
"I want to clarify my name as well as Kuya Dingdong's name that we don't have that kind of relationship.
"Wala po kaming gano'ng relasyon.”
Also, she expressed her respect, not just for Dingdong, but for his wife Marian Rivera as well.
"Never po ako naging girlfriend or anything ni Kuya Dong and I respect Kuya Dong as a person and as an actor and as a husband and, siyempre, I also respect 'yung wife.
"Hindi po totoo 'yung fake news."
Lindsay said that she and Dingdong were already able to talk about the issue.
Regarding the issue’s effect on her, the Kapuso actress revealed that she and her family just laughed at it since they know the truth.
"Since we all knew the truth, at first, tumawa lang din po kami... at least sa sarili namin, sa sarili ko, alam ko kung ano ang totooo at ano 'yung hindi."
At the end of the conversation, Lindsay clarified once again that the viral news is not true.
"Never akong binuntis ni Kuya Dong and never kaming nagka-relationship. I respect Kuya Dong very much as a person, as a husband, and as an actor."
The issue started with a blind item about an actress being impregnated by a popular actor. It was Mocha Uson and Robin Padilla who were originally dragged to the issue. However, both parties denied it, and that was when Dingdong and Lindsay’s names were brought to the controversy.
Lindsay De Vera is a British-Filipina actress. She appeared in several Kapuso series, including “Alyas Robinhood”, “Encantadia”, “Victor Magtanggol”, and “The Better Woman”.
In a previous report by KAMI, Dingdong’s supporters defended the actor from the issue. They believed that the public was only being misled from the truth. Even Lolit Solis insisted that the news was obviously fake.
