"Visited Virac and Bato in Catanduanes this morning. Heartbreaking to see the devastation at every turn. Houses big or small destroyed, establishments—from school buildings to govt facilities and churches—as well. All electric posts were down. No electricity and phone signal."
"We've been receiving many msgs asking for updates from Catanduanes. They only have a satellite equipment that provides internet to the Prov'l Capitol. You may send msgs to your families via Gov. Boboy Cua's FB page (https://facebook.com/SulongCatandungan). They have a team in charge of this."
"Amid all the damage, you can feel the LGUs at work, with most roads cleared and establishments starting to open. Catanduanos have played a big part with their sense of community: bigger and sturdier houses taking in those in smaller ones, looking out for neighbors."
