Karen Davila took to social media to express her heartbreak over the unfortunate news involving Ces Drilon.

Drilon announced that she has lost her job on ABS-CBN after the network was refused a franchise renewal by the Congress.

The veteran journalist was heading ABS-CBN’s lifestyle ecosystem and serving as the executive editor of the ANC-X website before she lost her job.

Davila tweeted that she is heartbroken over what happened and that it was an honor to work with Drilon.

She also called Drilon a news icon and said that she will stand with the Kapamilya network until the end.

“This is heartbreaking @cesdrilon. It’s been an honor to be alongside you in Bandila.

“You are an ABSCBN news icon and inspiration. I am preparing my heart as well for the worst and will stand by ABSCBN til the end,” Davila tweeted.

The ABS-CBN shutdown is one of the most controversial issues in the Philippines these days. Supporters of the network claim that the ABS-CBN is being unfairly targeted for political reasons.
