Mocha Uson biography
Mocha Uson was born on May 17, 1982 at a place called Dagupan in Pangasinan, Philippines. The name of her father is Oscar Uson while that of her mother is Estrellita Uson. Her father used to work as a judge for the Regional Trial Court before he was murdered in September 2002. On the other hand, her mother worked as a pediatrician in Dagupan.
Speaking of Mocha Uson education, she attended the University of Santo Tomas where she pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical technology. She graduated in 1998. One year later, she went back to the same institution and enrolled at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. However, she dropped out in her second year to pursue a career in modeling and song-and-dance.
Uson started her career as a solo singer and dancer. She used to perform in bars. She became famous for her sexy image and on-stage antics like lap dances. In 2006, Uson and her manager organized an audition to choose members to form a group known as Mocha Girls. The members of the group included Bez Lacanlale, Hershey Delas Alas, Heart de Guzman, and Grace Oracion.
The group released their debut album, A Taste of Mocha, in the year 2006. They went on to release their second album, Mocha (2007), and the third album, Deliciosa (2008). Recently, Uson made headlines when she shared photos of a mass gathering of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Batangas even as the coronavirus crisis persists. The event was part of a measure to check up on repatriated OFWs who have lost their jobs overseas. This event attracted heavy criticisms from Netizens who pointed out that it was a violation of the enhanced community quarantine.
The government has banned mass gatherings as a precautionary measure against COVID-19 in the Philippines. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, she defended herself, saying that those who attended the event gathered even before she arrived at the venue.
