Dan Rivera, a paranormal investigator, has recently died at the age of 54 while on tour with the infamous and allegedly "possessed" Raggedy Ann doll known as Annabelle by the people.

According to People, Rivera was the lead investigator for the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR), an organization originally founded by demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren in Connecticut, with the couple's story and history going viral among netizens on social media.

Emergency dispatch records from Adams County confirm that first responders were called to a hotel in Gettysburg, where they attempted to administer CPR to a male matching Rivera's age.

While the exact cause of death remains unknown, Adams County Coroner Francis Dutrow told The Evening Sun that an investigation is still ongoing, and that final autopsy results, at least according to the office, may even take up to several months to be completed and finalized.

The Annabelle doll, which Rivera had been touring with, rose to notoriety after being featured in The Conjuring franchise, as reported by E! Online. Though the real-life doll differs in appearance from the one depicted in the films, its eerie legacy has been a huge symbol in the franchise.

Following Rivera’s sudden passing, his family released a heartfelt statement shared by Unilad:

"We as a family are in pieces as we share the news that Dan Rivera has passed away unexpectedly. He was the center of this family and a pillar of love and strength. As a devoted husband, father of four sons, and a staunchly faithful friend, he always had a quiet source of resilience, strength and endless hope," Dan's family wrote in a Facebook post shared by Unilad.
