A young ice skating duo and their coach were among the casualties in the mid-air collision between an American Airlines plane and a Black Hawk chopper on January 29.

In a report by New York Post, young figure skaters Angela Yang and Sean Kay and their coach Alexandr “Sasha” Kirsanov were all aboard the passenger plane.

The adorable ice skating partners were members of the University of Delaware Figure Skating Club. They went to Wichita, Kansas last week to attend the National Development Camp where young promising skaters receive training, the same report stated.

According to ABC News, Coach Kirsanov and his wife, Natalya Gudin, coached the two young figure skaters. The couple decided Kirsanov would fly to Wichita to accompany the youngsters.

Meanwhile, PNP Public Information Office acting chief Police Colonel Randulf Tuano, in a press conference, identified the PNP high-ranking official as Police Colonel Pergentino Malabed, Jr, the chief of the PNP Supply Management Division.

US figure skaters were among the casualties of the mid-air accident that killed 67 people. Russian former world champions were also included in the long list of casualties. Apart from that, according to a news article by Reuters, Senator Maria Cantwell confirmed casualties included citizens from Russia, Germany, and the Philippines. US Figure Skating confirmed that several skaters were on the American Airlines regional passenger plane.
