Footage shared widely on social media shows the woman conversing with a man before walking away. The man then follows her and kicks her, causing her to fall. Even as she lies on the floor, the assailant attempts another kick, but the woman manages to evade it.

The Philippine Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has confirmed that the victim has been identified and contacted by the labor attaché in Singapore.

“Nag-uusap na yung ating Migrant Workers Office labor attaché in Singapore, but ngayon inaalam pa natin ang exact cause ng pangyayari and of course, medical assistance is the most basic there, and of course, yung filing of the complaint, our lawyer would stand ready to help her,” says DMW Secretary Hans Cacdac.

The victim has shared her account with the labor attaché, though specific details are being kept private for her safety. Secretary Cacdac emphasized that the incident is being treated seriously.

“It’s assault, physical assault. It’s a crime anywhere in the world, especially in Singapore. We are looking into it and filing the necessary legal actions,” he stated.

The DMW is coordinating with local authorities to ensure that the OFW receives both medical attention and legal support. The agency also highlighted that they are monitoring the case closely and are ready to provide assistance for filing complaints against the assailant.

This case underscores the importance of protecting overseas Filipino workers, particularly women, from physical harm while working abroad. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack, with the priority on the victim’s welfare and pursuing justice through proper legal channels.

As previously reported by KAMI, Cebu vlogger Jimbo Yurongo, also known as MarinongDj, was assaulted while taking photos with fans at the Barangay Iponan fiesta. The suspect, reportedly intoxicated, struck him on the neck, prompting stage personnel and attendees to intervene. Several witnesses said the chaos lasted for moments before order was restored. Both Yurongo and the suspect were hospitalized, with the latter later detained at Maharlika Detention Cell. Yurongo is now in stable condition and shared on social media that he was in a wheelchair. The incident raised concerns about security, prompting organizers to review safety measures.
