According to Bombo Radyo, citing Yonhap, the passenger plane left Gimpo Airport in Seoul, heading for Jeju, then quickly returned to Gimpo where it was able to land.

According to an Inquirer report, it was very likely to be a bird strike and bad weather.
The cause of the accident is presumed to be a bird strike combined with adverse weather conditions. However, the exact cause will be announced following a joint investigation," Lee Jeong-hyun, chief of Muan fire station stated.
