Two people were injured after a fireworks display malfunctioned in southeastern Turkey, according to a report by Balitanghali.

Several of the fireworks did not shoot into the sky as expected. Instead, they drifted toward the spectators, surprising people watching the display.

The two people reported injured were filming the fireworks from their apartment balcony when the incident happened. The report did not identify them or provide details about the extent of their injuries.

The fireworks display was part of a celebration following the province’s soccer team’s league victory. The accident happened as people gathered to mark the win.

In another report, A school in Barangay Sauyo, Quezon City was robbed of more than P313,000 worth of equipment and cash after two men allegedly entered the compound past midnight on Saturday. According to James Agustin’s report on GMA’s Unang Balita on August 26, CCTV footage showed one man climbing over a railing inside the school. He was later seen inside the administrative office, where he appeared to search through the area. His alleged accomplice was also captured by a security camera. The school caretaker discovered the incident the following morning. Scattered belongings were found inside the office, prompting the caretaker to report the matter to the police. Investigators said the door of the administrative office had been damaged.

Meanwhile, a man was shot dead outside a school in Barangay Prinza, Teresa, Rizal, on Thursday afternoon, triggering a police manhunt and leaving his family grieving. According to a report by GMA News' "Unang Balita," the victim was shot in the head at around 4 p.m. The gunman reportedly escaped immediately after the attack. A viral video of the incident showed the victim lying on the ground while his live-in partner stayed beside him carrying their infant child. Barangay officials and tanods quickly responded to clear the area, especially after students and residents gathered near the scene.

Recently, a mother and her 13-year-old son were injured after they were allegedly attacked with a bolo while sleeping inside their home in Barangay Paril, Cebu City. According to a report on GMA's Unang Balita, the incident happened after the 22-year-old suspect reportedly caused trouble during a dance in the barangay. Police said the suspect became involved in a disturbance at the gathering. The father of the young victim and husband of the woman reportedly approached him and asked what was happening. The suspect allegedly became angry after being confronted. Because of his behavior, he was eventually made to leave the dance. Authorities said the man later went to the family's house. The father, who had confronted him earlier, was reportedly not the one he encountered there.
