American alt-pop musician Oliver Tree, known for his songs “Life Goes On” and “Alien Boy,” was reportedly among six people who died after two helicopters collided midair over Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Sunday morning.

According to a report by AP News, the two helicopters crashed in the western zone of Rio de Janeiro, killing all six individuals aboard the aircraft involved in the accident.

Authorities said one of the helicopters went down in the parking lot of a car dealership. The crash sparked a fire after several electric vehicles parked in the area caught flames. The blaze was later brought under control and extinguished by emergency responders.

The Rio de Janeiro Military Fire Department confirmed the fatalities and said rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene following the collision.

Officials have launched an investigation to determine what caused the two helicopters to collide. As of writing, authorities have yet to release their findings regarding the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police said that the American singer and comedian was listed among the passengers whose names were submitted to aviation authorities. However, officials also noted that the bodies recovered from the crash site have not yet been formally identified, and they are continuing efforts to confirm the identities of all victims.

Tree is widely known for his eccentric persona, bowl-cut hairstyle, and genre-blending music that combines elements of alternative pop, electronic music, and hip-hop. Beyond music, he has built a massive following online through his comedic videos and distinctive visual style.

Just days before the incident, Tree had been performing in South America. He held a concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on June 4 as part of his tour activities in the region.
