PBA finals Game 6 between Ginebra-Meralco postponed due to Araneta Coliseum fire

- PBA Governors' Cup Finals’ Game 6 between Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Meralco Bolts has been postponed

- This was after a fire broke out around noontime at the venue, Smart-Araneta Coliseum, where the PBA 3×3 Second Conference Grand Finals was supposed to be held as well

- The said game between Gin Kings and Bolts will instead be played on Friday, April 22, at the Mall of Asia Arena

- Araneta then took to its social media pages to release a statement regarding the incident

Game 6 of the Philippine Basketball Association Governors' Cup Finals between Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Meralco Bolts was halted as fire broke inside the Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, April 20.

According to a report by PBA.ph, the PBA decided to postpone the game "with the safety of all in mind."

As per Rappler, the said game will instead be played on Friday, April 22, at the Mall of Asia Arena. Fans who already have the tickets can process their refunds at the ticketing office of the Araneta Coliseum.

Aside from the Gin Kings-Bolts game, the PBA 3×3 Second Conference Grand Finals has also been canceled, Inquirer Sports noted.

The Philippine Basketball Association is a men's professional basketball league in the Philippines. The league played its first-ever game at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on April 9, 1975.
