Pres. Bongbong Marcos tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, his press secretary, Atty. Trixie-Cruz Angeles, revealed during a press briefing in Malacañang.

According to Angeles, the President had an antigen test, which yielded a positive result, as per Inquirer's report.

While PBBM has a slight fever, Angeles stated that he is okay.

Due to this, PBBM was not able to attend the 246th anniversary of the US independence at the US Embassy, ABS-CBN reported.

He will be in isolation for seven days, as per Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire.

If the symptoms of the President have resolved, then he would be able to resume work and once more return to face-to-face activities.

This is the second time that Marcos tested positive for COVID-19. GMA reported that in March 2020, he also contracted COVID after visiting Europe.

Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, also popularly known as BBM, is a Pinoy politician famous for being the only son of the late President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos. He served as Ilocos governor from 1998 to 2007 and then as congressman after stepping down as governor. In 2010, He won a seat in the Philippine Senate.
