Authorities said she also nearly suffered an electric shock when she approached him.
Realizing the danger, the victim's wife immediately sought help from their neighbors to disconnect the water pump from the electrical outlet.
The incident resulted in the caretaker's death, leaving his wife and other surviving family members mourning his loss.
Meanwhile, the owner of the house where the caretaker worked promised to provide assistance to the victim's family.
However, the report did not specify what kind of assistance would be given.
Relatives of the caretaker also declined to issue a statement about the incident.
Following the tragedy, Balitanghali shared several safety reminders to help prevent electrical accidents, particularly when using appliances near water.
The report advised the public to regularly inspect electrical cords and wiring to ensure they are in good condition.
People were also reminded to avoid overloading electrical outlets and to keep electrical appliances away from water.
Unplugging devices when they are not in use was also among the recommended precautions.
For damaged wiring or electrical equipment, the public was encouraged to seek assistance from a licensed electrician instead of attempting unsafe repairs.
The news program also explained what people should do when someone suffers an electric shock.

One important reminder was to avoid touching a victim who may still be in contact with an electrical current.
Instead, the power supply should be turned off or disconnected first, provided it is safe to do so.
People should also stay away from wet areas that may still pose an electrical hazard.
Emergency responders must be contacted immediately to ensure the victim receives proper medical assistance.
Once the area is safe, someone with sufficient training may check the victim's breathing and perform CPR if necessary.
Any visible wounds may also be covered with a clean, dry cloth while waiting for medical help.
