The vehicle landed on its side with its front end crushed, leaving visible damage at the scene. The impact also dented a water tank located below the structure, while rescuers attended to the driver trapped inside the fallen car.

Christian Perez, chief supervisor of Marikina Command Center Rescue 161, said their team received a report about the incident at the parking area beside City Hall.

The driver, who had traveled from Caloocan to attend to a matter in Marikina, was reportedly surprised by what happened. Rescuers managed to speak with her while helping her out of the damaged vehicle.

According to Perez, the woman said she mistakenly stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the car to move forward and fall from the elevated parking level.

“As per doon sa driver namali siya ng apak du'n sa silinyador. Imbes na preno, naapakan daw po 'yung gasolina… Mayroon siyang mga kaunting galos, bukol pero ano naman...hindi siya totally nasaktan kasi naka-seat belt at saka gumana 'yung airbag,” Perez said.

The driver's seat belt and the vehicle's airbag reportedly helped reduce the severity of her injuries. She sustained only minor scratches and bumps, according to the rescue official.

Images from the scene showed the wrecked car resting at an angle, with its front section heavily damaged. Crumpled metal along the parking structure and the damaged water tank were also visible following the incident.
