Police served a warrant issued by the Parañaque Regional Trial Court Branch 195. The serious illegal detention case was filed in 2025 by a household helper who reportedly worked for the woman and the man.
The arrest was carried out on that warrant. The report separately identified him as a person of interest in the woman’s death, with investigators still gathering evidence for a murder complaint.
The man was described as the woman’s alleged live-in partner. Her body was discovered inside a refrigerator at an apartment in Rodriguez on September 16.
After the arrest, authorities brought him and his vehicle to the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station. Officers inspected the items inside the vehicle and conducted an inventory.
Among the items recovered were a cellphone, a charger, and other personal belongings, according to the report. It did not establish whether any of these items were connected to the woman’s death.
The man declined to give a statement to the news team. However, police said he denied being at the location when the incident happened.
“Wala daw po doon siya sa area nung nangyari yung insidente,” a police officer said in the report.
That account was relayed by investigators. The man had not personally addressed the allegation in an interview with the reporter.
The investigation began after the apartment’s landlord contacted police about a foul smell coming from the unit. Authorities subsequently discovered the woman’s body wrapped in a blanket inside the refrigerator.
According to the landlord’s account cited in the report, the woman was last spoken to on September 9. She was reportedly with a man introduced as her live-in partner at the time.
Police said their investigation indicated that the woman had been strangled before her body was placed inside the appliance. Investigators also reported finding a rope allegedly used in the killing.
At the time of the broadcast, authorities said they were waiting for the results of a DNA examination before taking the next step in the case.
“Hihintayin po natin yung resulta ng ano ng DNA uh exam,” an officer said.
The officer explained that investigators planned to submit the case folder and a murder complaint to the provincial prosecutor in Rizal after receiving the results.
Meanwhile, the reporter said the man remained in the station’s custodial facility. Efforts to obtain his response continued, but he had not agreed to face the news team.
