The call for support comes as the school community continues to deal with the impact of the shooting, particularly among students and employees who may have witnessed or been directly affected by the violence.
Gatchalian also stressed that authorities must establish how the alleged shooter was able to acquire the firearms involved and how the weapons were brought inside the educational institution.
“We need clear answers on how the shooter was able to obtain two firearms and how these firearms were brought into the school premises,” he said.
The senator's statement places emphasis not only on accountability for the shooting itself but also on possible security gaps that may have allowed firearms to enter a school environment.
He further expressed solidarity with the Ateneo de Zamboanga community as it faces the aftermath of the incident.
“I stand with the Ateneo de Zamboanga community during this challenging time,” Gatchalian said.
The incident has renewed concerns over the safety and security of schools, where students and personnel are expected to learn and work in a secure environment.

“Patuloy tayong makikipagtulungan sa sektor ng edukasyon at sa ating mga komunidad upang masugpo ang karahasan sa ating mga paaralan,” he said.
As authorities continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the shooting, questions regarding the source of the firearms and their entry into the school remain central to the investigation. Meanwhile, the senator's call for psychosocial assistance underscores the need to address not only the immediate security concerns but also the emotional impact of the tragedy on the affected school community.
In another report, the alleged shooting incident at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University Junior High School prompted widespread concern among parents and the community. Amid unverified claims circulating online about serious casualties, the school released an official statement to provide clarification regarding the situation. Ateneo and authorities assured the public that the immediate threat had already been contained. An investigation was also launched to determine what actually happened during the campus lockdown and to verify the reports surrounding the incident.
