A woman lost her life after she was allegedly stabbed by her live-in partner following a heated argument in Sta. Maria, Laguna.

According to a report by GMA News’ Unang Balita, the victim was discovered dead inside their house in Barangay Bagong Pook. She sustained multiple stab wounds in different parts of her body.
Police officers who responded to the scene found the woman lying inside her room with severe injuries.
“Mayroon po siyang tama sa likod, sa dibdib, sa tagiliran at sa kanyang mga braso na nagpapakita lang ng posibleng mga defense wound,” an investigating officer said.

The officer added that the wounds on her arms suggested that she may have tried to defend herself during the attack.
Authorities identified the suspect as the victim’s live-in partner. Based on CCTV footage reviewed by investigators, the man allegedly fled the area after the incident.
Initial findings showed that the couple had reportedly argued before the stabbing happened.
Police said the disagreement may have stemmed from jealousy after a message allegedly appeared on the suspect’s cellphone.
“Lumalabas doon sa motive niya kasi nagkaroon ng pagtatalo yung mag-live in partner na iyon kasi may nag-pop out na message doon sa cellphone nung lalaki,” the officer explained.
The argument reportedly became intense and eventually turned violent.
The suspect later surrendered to authorities and admitted his involvement in the killing.
In an interview aired by GMA News, the man expressed remorse over what happened.
“Lagi po niya akong sinasaktan eh. Nagtiis lang po ako. Medyo hindi ko na po napigilan yung sarili ko. Parang napuno na po ako kaya nagawa ko yung bagay,” he said.
He also asked for forgiveness from the victim’s family.
“Pagpapatawad po. Nagsisisi po ako. Hindi ko po ginusto. Nabigla lang po ako at sana po ay mapatawad nila ako,” the suspect added.
Authorities are preparing to file a murder complaint against the man in connection with the victim’s death.
