A man in Minglanilla, Cebu lost his life after he was allegedly punched in the head by a friend following what started as a simple teasing incident.

According to a report by 24 Oras Weekend, the incident happened on Tuesday afternoon. Neighbors claimed the suspect became upset after the victim allegedly called him “ugly” during a joke exchange.
The situation reportedly escalated into a physical altercation, with the victim allegedly sustaining a punch to the head from his friend.
After the incident, the victim reportedly suffered from severe headaches. His grandmother shared that her grandson even reported the matter to barangay officials the following day, and both parties were supposedly scheduled for a confrontation.

However, before the meeting could happen, the victim’s condition worsened. He was rushed to the hospital but later passed away.
Because of this, the Philippine National Police recommended that the victim’s body undergo an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Police authorities also confirmed that a charge sheet for murder has already been prepared against the suspect.
“All the evidence that we got tend to lead not uh it was the ultimate cause of uh the death of that individual,” a police official said in the report.
Meanwhile, the suspect’s wife, who refused to face the camera, said her husband regrets what happened and is willing to apologize to the victim’s family.

Local police are currently conducting a deeper inquiry to determine the specific reasons behind this violent act.
