Pangilinan further described the alleged disorder inside the Senate as alarming, noting that the institution has long been regarded as one of the country’s respected and secure government bodies.
“Hindi pa ako nakaranas ng ganyang level of lawlessness sa loob ng isang tinuturing na kagalang-galang at ligtas na institusyon ng Pilipinas,” he added.
Despite the controversy, the senator stressed that he wants to continue focusing on public service and fulfilling his responsibilities to Filipinos.
The senator also directly denied the circulating allegations suggesting that members of the minority bloc had prior knowledge that a disturbance would occur.
He then explained why he was no longer present in the Senate before the alleged commotion intensified.
“Umalis ako nang maaga sa Senado dahil may meeting ako sa labas,” he revealed.
Pangilinan’s statement quickly gained attention online, with many netizens discussing both the incident itself and the rumors tied to the alleged advance warning. Others also echoed the senator’s sentiments, calling for transparency and clarity regarding the events that unfolded inside the Senate.
Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan is a Filipino lawyer and veteran legislator who has served multiple terms as a Senator of the Philippines, most recently returning to office in 2025. His post quickly sparked online discussions about the authenticity of the “performances” being shown during official government proceedings.
