Sharif Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur was placed under heightened security after an explosion occurred in front of a gas station, based on a report aired on GMA’s “Balitanghali.”

In the video report, panic could be seen in the area shortly after the blast. A woman inside an establishment across the gas station immediately hid under a table out of fear after hearing the explosion. Two men also quickly ran inside the establishment moments later.

Authorities said no injuries were reported despite the alarming incident. Residents and local officials, however, became concerned because the explosion happened near a gasoline station.

According to the report, two men riding a motorcycle were seen passing through the area before the explosion took place. Investigators are now looking into whether the individuals could be connected to the incident.

Police officers continued to secure the area as the scene remained cordoned off for investigation. The Sharif Aguak Police also alerted nearby police units and instructed them to conduct checkpoints to help identify and arrest those responsible for the explosion.

As of writing, authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding the exact cause of the blast. Investigators are still gathering evidence and reviewing information from the area.

Local authorities are urging the public to remain alert and immediately report any suspicious activity that may help in the ongoing investigation.
