According to the investigation by the Floridablanca Municipal Police Station, the confrontation was sparked by a heated exchange of messages on social media between one of the injured teens and the primary suspect, identified only by the alias "Jose," a 24-year-old motor mechanic from Barangay Calantas.

Jose allegedly challenged the younger teen to a physical fight, and the meeting was set for the night in question.

What the victims believed would be a one-on-one fistfight turned into a calculated ambush. Police revealed that CCTV footage obtained from the area shows Jose and several other men hiding near the designated meeting spot well before the teens arrived.

As the three students passed by on a single motorcycle, the suspects sprang their trap. Jose allegedly threw a liquor bottle at the victims.

The projectile struck the driver, causing him to lose control of the motorcycle, which then veered violently and crashed into a fence.

All three victims sustained severe injuries and were quickly transported to the Romana Pangan District Hospital. Tragically, the 15-year-old student was pronounced dead on arrival.

One of the other injured teens was later transferred to the JBL Memorial Hospital for specialized care, while the third remains under local treatment.
