A violent incident broke out during a fire in Barangay 650, Port Area, Manila, on Friday afternoon.
Two fire volunteers were reportedly beaten by residents as they waited for water to arrive at the scene.
One of the victims said he was attacked while standing by for water supply.
He explained that there was still no available water at that time, which angered the residents.

He shared that two men hit him with a two-by-two wooden plank on the back and also attacked his companion, forcing them to run for safety.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection–National Capital Region (BFP-NCR), the fire started around 1:28 p.m. and reached the second alarm by 1:34 p.m.
Firefighters managed to put out the flames at 2:22 p.m. Authorities are still determining the cause and extent of the damage.
Police have already launched an investigation into the assault on the fire volunteers.
Barangay officials are also helping identify and locate the suspects involved in the attack.
Officials condemned the act, saying responders risk their lives to save others and should not be harmed while performing their duty.
They also reminded the public to remain calm and cooperative during emergencies to avoid more injuries or chaos.

The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
