A 34-year-old man was killed after being stabbed by a lechon vendor in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, on Sunday. Police identified the victim only as “John Paul,” an unemployed resident of Purok St. Vincent, Barangay Alijis, as per iFM Bacolod 943.

According to Police Lt. Ildeponso Leonardo, deputy station commander of Bacolod Police Station 8, the suspect was known by the alias “Parcon,” a man who makes a living roasting lechon.
Initial investigation showed that John Paul went to Purok Mars in Barangay Singcang-Airport with his live-in partner to visit his aunt.
While at the area, they encountered the suspect. Without any heated argument or lengthy conversation, Parcon suddenly stabbed John Paul.

Bystanders rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival due to the severity of his injuries.
Authorities have yet to disclose details about the motive, but initial accounts suggest that jealousy may have played a role in the attack.
The stabbing has shocked residents of the community, many of whom described the incident as sudden and unexpected.
Police are now conducting follow-up operations to track down Parcon, who fled after the attack.
The case adds to the growing list of stabbing and violent incidents in Western Visayas in recent weeks, highlighting concerns over public safety.
Just last week, a barangay official was gunned down inside a barangay hall in Pangasinan, underscoring the persistence of violent crimes in local communities.
Authorities continue to appeal for calm while assuring the public that efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect.
